Members are reminded of the upcoming meeting to discuss and vote on full renovations to the outdoor greens.
The performance of both greens is not at a satisfactory level and the reasons are varied and complex, but the opinion of the Management Committee is the best way forward is to completely renew each green (one in 2026, the other in 2027, assuming everything is well with the first renovation).
We have 3 quotations available to view on the Members' Area of the Club website (Essex County Bowling Club) - please read through them prior to the meeting (requires log-in - ask Ed for a copy or help with your password), they will hopefully explain a good deal - but any questions can be answered on the night of the meeting.
The current preferred quotation is from Fineturf. This company renovated Joe Dawson's (JD Greenkeeping, who have been helping with our greens for the past year) own home Club in Leicestershire, so he has in depth knowledge of working with them, which will help greatly with the aftercare, which is vital in this project.
