The Indoor Season Commences The official start of the season is still coming Saturday 28th September, with all leagues starting from Monday 30th onwards. A reminder that membership renewal forms are ready for collection - they are placed in the Indoor Arena, on a table just past the Session Desk. Rink fees remain £3.50 per person for any type of play and must be paid promptly, prior to play - please make the Session Steward's job as easy as possible!
Friendly Matches As always, we have a large number throughout the season, mostly on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Please see the relevant noticeboard to add your name to any fixtures you wish to play in. The first friendly is on Wednesday 9th October 2pm vs Fairwood / Rayleigh and we still require more names, so please help out if you can.
Novice Disc / League Our members with less than 3 years bowling experience can play in our Novice League (Mondays at 4pm) and the Novice Disc game (various dates, first one Thur 3rd Oct 10am) - you will need to let us know if you want to play in the League, but for the Disc game please just turn up on the day.
Ladies County & National Club Competitions Selectors Natasha Patient and Pat Whiting are holding 2 trial days to help formulate their squads for the season: Friday 11th October 12noon-4pm Sunday 13th October 10am-2pm They are open to any lady member and the ethos is having fun - full details are on the Ladies noticeboard - please add your names here too.
Basic First Aid Course One of our long-time members, Matthew Osborne (A&E Nurse, College lecturer), will be holding 2 short courses on basic first aid at the Club: Wednesday 30th October 6pm Sunday 3rd November 10am Any member of the Club who is interested is welcome to attend, however places will be strictly limited on each date to 10 people – a list is being held on the Club noticeboard, alternatively just reply to this e-mail. These mini courses are for anyone, but any member interested in becoming a fully-fledged Club First Aider please let us know.
Quiz Night Sat 5th October - please add your team to the list on the Entertainments Noticeboard.
Mark Royal Roadshow Jack & Bowl are returning to the Club on 10th October - a chance to get anything you might need for the forthcoming season.
