Club News - September

Indoors

Membership Renewal Forms - Now available for collection from the Club (hard copy) found under the dual TV screens in the main clubhouse area. If you require an electronic copy, please just ask.
League Rotas - All leagues have now been populated and added to our online diary. The blank rotas for Team Sponsors have been printed and put out for collection in the Indoor Arena. As above, if you require an electronic copy these can be sent out, just ask Ed.
Competition Forms (Winter season) - Our usual 3 forms (Mens, Ladies & Mixed) are available both online (Indoor Club Competitions | Essex County Bowling Club) and printed in the Indoor Arena (on the wall, just beyond the session desk). The deadline for entries is 14th October - good luck to all entrants!
Competition Final (Summer Indoors season) - These will be held on Saturday 19th September at 10am. The Friday/Sunday may have to be used because of people getting to multiple finals. A schedule will be put on the notice board as soon as possible.
Further Bowls News - As in previous years, we will be running a season-long Novice Disc game once a week (on different days & times each week), a schedule will be sent out to eligible players shortly. We will also continue running (thanks to Gary Cleasby) the Supper League on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm, all welcome!
Carpet Cleaning - We urgently require more volunteers to be part of the team who will regularly vacuum clean the indoor arena carpet throughout the indoor season. The carpet requires cleaning twice a week to maintain it's performance and prolong it's life. It takes slightly less than one hour to clean the carpet using our specialised vacuum cleaner. Naturally the carpet must be cleaned when the club is closed, ideally before the club opens, we would suggest a start time of 6:45am, ensuring the job is finished before 8am. If we can recruit a team of 8-10 members, it would mean each volunteer would only need to clean the carpet once a month at most.
We already have some volunteers, so we on our way to our target - ONE HOUR, ONCE A MONTH is all we need.
If you are an early riser and would like to join the team of volunteers who keep our club running 7 days a week please leave your contact details with Edward Morris in the club office or email/text Chris Flack. We currently clean the carpet on a Tuesday and Friday morning, if you are interested please state your preference when you reply.

Outdoors

National Finals - Leamington
Congratulations to all Club members who attended various competition finals over the past few weeks. This year saw a number of debutantes to Leamington, including the first time we as a Club have qualified in the Mixed O60s Double Rink, where we reached the Semi-Final.
Our representation culminated in Elaine Score & Edward Morris winning the Mixed Pairs together, for the second time (previously in 2021) - a massive well done!

Additional - Good luck to all our members still involved in Club, District & County competitions. District finals will take place this coming weekend and Club competition finals will take place over 11/12/13 Sept - your support would be very much appreciated by the players.
A further congratulations to Edward Morris who has been selected for the England side at the forthcoming Hong Kong Classic in November, good luck!

Thank you to everybody who supported my recent Presidents Day - it was a great success and we raised £960 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association which is brilliant. I would particularly like to thank Natasha and Steve for all their help beforehand and on the day and thank everybody who came to it or who supported in other ways.
