The 30-year-old, from Essex County BC, defeated Hampshire’s Peter Ward from Sports Centre Southampton BC on an extra end in this afternoon’s final.
Morris trailed 10-13 with three ends to play and collected three singles to take it to an extra end.
In the semi-finals, Morris defeated Norfolk’s Peter Wilkinson and Ward defeated Worcestershire’s Steve Poyner.
In the Mixed Fours Edward Morris and Sue Kemp were once again joined by Elaine Score and Mark Nullmeyers in attempting to retain their 2017 title. All was going well up to the final where they came up against a very strong team from Surrey. The result was:
Surrey (Debbie Souter, Liz Anderson, Mark Bishopp & Charlie Souter) bt Essex (Sue Kemp, Elaine Score, Mark Nullmeyers & Edward Morris) 18-13
Another fine performance.
