Indoor Coaching / Bowls for Beginners
Please find latest news concerning the above...
We are entering into a very difficult season Indoors, numerous restrictions imposed upon us as a result of this COVID pandemic. The committee has thought long and hard about coaching – a very valuable element of the Club’s future.
We have followed and interpreted the guidelines as produced by the National Governing coaching bodies/directives from the Government and are confident we can go ahead with coaching at ECBC throughout the 2020/21 Indoor season.
We are pleased to announce that currently, 3 rinks have been ring-fenced for the season, every Sunday and Tuesday mornings at 08:00 commencing Sunday 4th October for members who need help/assistance with their game.
These coaching rinks MUST be booked in advance with the Club Office.
Places are limited to 9 ie. 3 per rink.
To book a rink for coaching on one of the above sessions, please phone or email the Club Office.
You can visit the diary on the Club’s website any time after 17:00 on Mondays or Fridays to check if your request has been successful.
Following the Bowls for Beginners (BfB) courses, priority on the weekly coaching sessions will be given to new members who joined as a result of the course or join throughout the season.
BOWLS FOR BEGINNERS
We are planning to run our customary BfB course, over the weekend of the 24/25th October 2020 followed by the BfB Follow-up course on Sunday 1st November.
The course will start at 14:00 and is of 2 hours each day - places are limited to 18.
If you have any friends/family/neighbours who wish to give bowls a try, please contact Ed in the office or Ev Schooling to reserve a place – an application form can be downloaded from the Clubs website via https://www.essexcountybowlsclub.com/files/bfbapplicationform_oct2020.pdf
The sub-committee have worked tirelessly in developing processes and protocols at ECBC to ensure your health and safety is paramount whilst on the Club’s premises, whilst conforming to the guidelines produced by the Governments in consultation with our own National Governing Body (NGB) – the English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA).
We are confident, as far as we can be that, after testing out our processes, procedures and protocols on the 23rd, we have everything in place to the best of our ability, a safe and secure environment to protect our memberships health and safety whilst in the Club - providing everyone is on board
