Club News - July

We are continuing to get busier for the roll-up sessions, which is great, but it does mean we need to show even greater care in managing these sessions. As such we are making a couple of significant changes:
- Play will now commence at 9am instead of the usual 10am start time. The morning sessions of 10-11 and 11-12 are incredibly popular so we urgently need to ease the congestion at these times. Starting play earlier is one way of hopefully doing this. Please do not be offended if you ask for a 10am or 11am slot in the coming weeks and are declined, we simply must be vigilant in safeguarding all members while the virus is still prevalent in the area.
- Pairs play roll-ups will not be on adjacent rinks under any circumstances. This is another way of controlling numbers at the Club at any time. Pairs play is still strictly limited to 90 minutes.
Club Office Manager Edward will still be solely in charge of these bookings and will be trying his best to be fair to everyone, please understand that this is not an easy task by any means!
Club Bar Re-Opening
The Club Bar will open from Monday 13th July. Hours as follows:
Monday 11am-1pm & 6pm-8pm
Tuesday 11am-1pm & 6pm-8pm
Wednesday 11am-1pm & 6pm-8pm
Thursday 11am-1pm & 6pm-8pm
Friday 11am-1pm & 6pm-8pm
Saturday 12nn-2pm (Club closes at 2pm)
As the Bar is opening, we are now reverting to the usual Club rule of no food or drink to be brought on to the premises.
The Kitchen will remain closed for the time being, discussions are ongoing as to when to open.
Sadly for the Club our Secretary Tina Spriggs is standing down from the role. Tina will continue with her sterling efforts coordinating the various ongoing projects at the Club. John Stewart will be our acting Secretary until the next Club AGM, when we hope a volunteer will come forward to fill this vital role.
Summer Indoor Bowling
Under current government regulations we are still unable to return to Indoor bowling currently. Rest assured we are ready to recommence play whenever allowed, with all necessary safeguarding in place.
